Description
The Evening Wall was a tall, linear mountain range that ran from The High Ice in the North, to the Vyndingeld Pass in the South. It divided the North half of Auriin's mainland into Fëaforn in the West and Kharn in the East. The mountain range was so named for the fact that it obscured The Great Rift as it opened each evening, casting a tall shadow over Fëaforn to its West.
The mountains were raised alongside all other mountain ranges in Auriin, by the Dwarves' patron deity, Duepra Gairus, in the Fourth Era. The dwarfish halls that became The Evening Wall were home to the ancestors of the Erechai dwarves, who occupied the mountains for many eras thence.
