Description

The Kenku were a race of avian humanoids, robbed of their wings by an ancient divine evil. Many wandered the world as vagabonds and burglars who lived at the edge of human society. Kenku suffered from a sinister reputation that was not wholly unearned, but they could prove to be valuable allies.

Kenku were keen observers with supernaturally accurate memories and a mastery over their own voices. They were able to mimic sounds that they have heard, including voices, to an incredible fidelity. Some kenku even chose to communicate only though mimicry. Many could also turn their talent for mimicry to other mediums, and were able to produce expert forgeries of a variety of objects.

Appearance

Kenku were corvid-like in appearance, most often with raven-black feathers, but sometimes with streaks of white or dark, iridescent hues.

Most kenku stood between 5 and 6½ feet tall, but some were known to reach only 3½ feet.

Territory

They could be found wandering Nurfel alone, appearing to travellers as ephemeral, cloaked silhouettes in the mist. It was never known, even to the Kenku themselves, where their true homeland was, or if they have one at all.
